A little coupon trip!
This morning I went to the grocery store with my mom because they are doing their super double up to 2.00 this week. I have lots of people ask how do I do it? So I am going to tell you how I do it so you can also save money and even get stuff FREE!
My trip today consisted of the following:
2 bags of Pedigree Breath busters for the dogs
1 box of IAMS dog treats
1 bottle of Gain fireworks (the smell good things you add to your laundry)
2 sticks of Old Spice deodorant for Steve
1 60 tablet bottle of multivitamin
1 box of Excedrin Migraine
1 Febreze car air freshener
3 bottles of Febreze Air Effects
2 boxes of tampons
2 bottles of Soft Scrub for the house
1 bottle of Zquil
2 things of Crest Complete toothpaste
1 thing of Off bug spray but in the form of a stick
2 bottles of Scope Outlast
1 thing of 3 color Almay eye shadow
2 bottles of dry shampoo
3 large bottles of dish detergent
2 bottles of original Franks Red Hot sauce
1 bottle of Franks Red Hot Ketchup sauce
1 Breyers Ice Cream toppers
1 Hormel microwavable meal
4 bags of Tyson Any'tizers
(Hopefully I didn't leave anything off)
My total before coupons was 182.00 (and some change)
After coupons I paid ... 62.00!!
This wasn't a normal grocery trip by no means but everything that I purchased Steve and I do use in our house. I guess you could say a tiny stock pile. This way when Steve needs new deodorant or I need a new bottle of air freshener we don't have to go to Wal-Mart and pay 3 or 4 dollars for it we just simply go to the closet and get it out.
So how do I do it?
The Febreze Car Freshener:
It was 2.99
I had a 1.00 off coupon
It doubled to 2.00
I got it for .99
Almay eye shadow:
It was 5.50
The coupon was 2.00 off any one Almay product
That doubles to 4.00
So 5.50-4.00
I paid 1.50
The dish detergent:
It was on sale for 2.99
Coupon was 1.00 off
That makes 2.00 off
I paid .99 each
I had 3 coupons so I paid 2.97 for 3
Franks Red Hot Sauce:
It was on sale for buy one get one free (B1G1)
The coupon was for .75 off one
That doubles to 1.50 off
The price was 1.50
So I got two bottles for FREE on one coupon
(Steve LOVES this stuff)
Franks Red Hot - Ketchup Style:
It was on sale for 2 for 4.00
You can buy one at half price so 2.00
The coupon was .75 off
Doubled to 1.50
I got the bottle for .50
Tyson Any'tizers:
They were 8.45 a bag
On sale for B1G1 free
That makes them about 4.23 a bag without coupons
I had a 1.00 off coupon that doubled to 2.00
I had two coupons so I bought two bags and got two bags free
Basically I paid 6.45 for 2 or 3.23 a bag
About 13.00 for 4 bags. This would have cost me 33.80
That's HUGE savings!
Hormel Microwavable meal:
They were on sale 2/4.00
So 2.00 each
I used a 1.00 off coupon
So make that 2.00 off after being doubled
It was FREE!
Who doesn't want a free meal?
My Favorite "buy" of the day - Febreze Air Effects:
They were on sale for 2.99 a bottle
I had a 1.50 off coupon for one
I had 3 coupons
They all double to 3.00
Therefore I got 3 cans of Febreze air freshener FREE!
Coupons take a long time but in the end I feel it is all worth it!
