Week 1. Happy New Year.

Week One: January 1-7

Happy New Year. I decided to start a new blog to let you experience the life of the Dillards week by week for a whole year. We will see where this year takes us but for right now only our Lord and Savior knows where our life will be in January of 2014.

Steve and I started out the year right. When the clock struck midnight we had the usual midnight kiss but along with that midnight kiss we were both enjoying a big bowl of snow cream. You heard that right, snow cream. It snowed all day on New Years Eve in Kansas.  It was very beautiful to sit and watch everything slowly become covered with that pretty white stuff. Unfortunately I didnt get to sit all day and watch the snow fall. I had my first physical therapy appointment . The doctor is awesome. I think I will really enjoy going to see him or at least lets hope so because I have to go see him for 4 to 6 weeks for 2-3 per week. If I need more therapy after that he will send a referral into Tri-Care and they will allow me to continue. He was really impressed with what all I can already do on my own. He also sent me some "homework" home so we will see if that helps me any.

I know that many life changing events will come about this year. Steve and I will be moving to North Carolina come the end of April. Both of us have really mixed feelings on this. Both the same feelings though. When we first move to NC we are both going to need our space. For the first year of our marriage we have been use to only have a select few number of friends around. No parents or grandparents, no aunts of uncles to come knock on the door to say hello. This will be a change for sure that is going to take a while to get use to. We ask that to make our transition a little easier that our family and friends respect us throughout this process. (Which since all of y'all are so great we know there wont be any question about it) We don't want everyone to expect to see us every weekend. There are times when Steve and I like to lay around in our pajamas and not leave the house on a Saturday. We are a very laid back family. We enjoy eating dinner together each night. We are not saying that we don't love to invite friends over because trust me we LOVE to host dinners and parties.  Steve and I pray constantly about this move. We need God to lead us. We don't know as husband and wife what it is like to live near all our family and friends. We devote all our time to ourselves in Kansas (and the few wonderful friends we have out here.) To others this might sound crazy but I think if you ask any other couple in our situation you will see that we are not alone in this big life changing event.

That's all I have for now. If there is anything that you would like to hear my write about or just my opinion on some topics please feel free to let me know. Writing at least once a week for a year, I am going to need some things to talk about.

Sherry Dillard.
