Week 3. Our time in Wichita

Its at the very end of week 3 but I have a really good reason/excuse for not blogging sooner. Steve and I had a little getaway this weekend. We drove two hours to Wichita. We had a blast of course. Friday consisted of lots of shopping (my husband is great at spoiling me) and then we went out to dinner. Did I mention that we saw a guy relieving himself in the middle of the mall parking lot? Yep, out in the open where everyone could see him. Ha! We spent our Friday evening in the hot tub and just have great conversation. Well until the creepy old guy came and got in the hot tub with us. Thankfully he left after about 4 minutes of being in there. Saturday was full of museums and sightseeing. We went to the museum of National Treasure. It was tons of artifacts and history from all the wars. It was very interesting. But then again Steve and I are big history nerds! We also went to what was call Old CowTown. This was like a Old Salem back home except it was western like and as Steve said it was way cooler than Old Salem. Not to mention that I got tons of great pictures at this place. Since it is the off season very few people were there. I always knew that Wichita was good for something. They had a Krispey Kreme. The Fort Riley area doesn't have a Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Doughnuts so I was very excited to find this. My husband and I are always teaching each other new games to play and guess what?  For the first time EVER I learned how to play battleship. Then this morning before heading back home we went to the Exploration center and to the first ever Pizza Hut. How awesome is that. Pizza Hut was started in a house like building by two Wichita State students many years back so they have now moved the first Pizza Hut onto Wichita's campus (which was only a few miles from the original location). It was very relaxing to get away with my husband this weekend. I feel extremely BLESSED!

Before heading to bed I would like to share something with you. As Steve and I were doing our bible study the other night before bed we read this and it really made me think ...

The Study was about keeping the Sabbath day holy.
The related text was Exodus 16:11-30; Psalm 62:1-5; Matthew 11:25-30; Mark 6:30-32; and Hebrews 4:1-4

The thing that really stood out to me was this. Take a minute (or two) and think about this!

Don't you think that if God found the time to rest after all He did, you can spend sometime enjoying His good work?
